So another cold, dull and rainy day.
Had an early reply from Polson saying 'I was wrong the thing that looks like a solenoid under the bonnet which you illustrated in your e mail is a solenoid', so I'm not a complete numpty I thought. However he said the workshop thought the points were sticking in it as it had been left standing so long. Odd I thought as with the recent activity it seems to be getting worse not better ...
Anyway, I BB sat AM so lots of brio train action was all we got.
However PM I thought I'd look through the paperwork for clues on the solenoid. I found the reference to the Mercedes unit and lots of wiring diagrams. I also wondered what that Rotax switch was for ?
So I put the key in it - it seems to turn from one side to the other - perhaps moving over the batteries when running ?
Anyway I tried starting with out my foot off the clutch to hear the noise and my jipes it started ! In fact it tried to start each time so I just let her fire up - I'd not even pumped the carb. Ummm - odd.
Of course I tried with the foot on the clutch but that worked too.
Researching again the manual says if there is a Traffic Clutch DON'T put your foot on the clutch. So I assume I do have one.
