Big one and Little one

More bloody rain and an overcast, cold day. AM I went under the Talbot to look for the solenoid serial number. Nice thing about vintage cars - they are high off the ground.

Here it is:

Ah yes the good old Monark 83 809 004. Not sure where I'll be able to get one of those.

Then pottered playing with the model. Cutting off the rear to make it a better shape.

I also gave it a coat of paint too after bending the boot up and filling the gaps.

However I did find that on the real one the light fittings on the indicators are the same thread as garden hoses ! So I set about working out how to fit something. While I was doing that our MP (well the old one) James Cartlidge popped his head in the garage door looking for the letterbox - he got three shocks. 1. When I popped out to meet him, 2. That I knew who he was and 3. when he saw the cars in the garage - a 1933 Talbot and Aston Martin V12 Vantage.

Then I took the Aston out to look for lights and paint - another fail. Rain came down on the way back too - looking at that sky I was not surprised.
