Mr Bumpy and Mr Smooth

Most of the day was wandering around the village for the Open Gardens - nice old Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic in one though :)

Then late PM I got a call "Monty wants to see a Car !" Well I'd been meaning to get the Imp out so off I went. I shot off and it was going well, but gosh it's bumpy. Then going down Oli's road I though the wheels were coming off. It was shaking and wobbling around. I gingerly came to a halt.

I let them play in the car and we pushed them up the road for a while. Then I set off slightly nervous. It was fine. Still quite bumpy and with very direct steering but actually no worse - I think I've got used to the Talbot.

To prove the point I thought I'd better get it out. It started second or third push of the starter after a few 'donks'.

Yes - it is much smoother - but the steering is far less reactive. Not really a sports car experience. The 'beeper' is still annoyingly metallic so I will tape it over again - but it does makes me turn the indicators off.

Around the block we went - in 'comfort' - well in 'stately comfort' - it is 91 years old after all.
