I started pottering jobs early to get me going. So first the Talbot glove box. I managed to work out how to add a discrete fitting (actually a cheap cuff link) to the lock by looping it on a small sliver of plastic and screwing the lock back in.
Next I did the tyre pressures. I managed to drop the pump on my foot as I struggled to get evrything down. Pratt I thought. So I pumped the tyres up on the Talbot (mostly fine) and the Ferrari (all needed topping up). Next I went to get the clips from the hard top to move to the soft top. After struggling up into the loft and moving things around I discovered I'd already done it - so that was 30 mins wasted.
Then again avoiding starting on the Alpine I put the fan on the Imp and I sorted the Golf MK2 exhaust hanger.
A bit of a bodge but we'll see how we get on. I then started the Imp and let it idle to get it ready for a run this afternoon and then at long last I moved onto the Alpine. Getting the parts from the loft I managed to knock a plastic bucket down the stairs but luckily it missed the cars below. Pratt #2 I thought.
I'd got the door taken apart and the window out quite quickly (by lunchtime) so what next ? I did think to leave well along but instead I went back for an 'hour' - I even set my timer. However I got carried away and even managed to fit the window back in after installing the weather strips. Well 30 mins of struggle with it anyway.
Like everything I seem to do it's 95% ok. Next I'll add the glass channel guides when they arrive.
Finally I dropped the paint off at Lee's in the SAAB (which seemed to be behaving). He thinks I've bashed the door and thinking of it I might have trapped it on the brick plinth and sat in the car making it go down once while working on the door lock ...
That will be a couple of weeks but gives me time to practice on the the door..
By then it was murky so the Imp got left out. Shame - but I know when to quit.
