Cold but Productive Day

So back to the Alpine today - even though it was bloody cold all day. Including hail.

I started by fitting the window guide I'd fitted the felt to yesterday. The hard part was screwing it in place - especially as the screw kept falling out. So I taped it to the screwdriver.

I only got one screw in but that was enough to keep it in place. I then fitted the simple felt one to the other side - that worked well too. I also started the Imp just in case I could get it out at last.

Then after lunch I finished it off and put the door furniture back on. I'm sure that the window has moved in the fitting and is not strait - not sure how - but I'll look at the second one when I fit that back together.

I then turned back to the soft top. I loosened all the bolts for the windscreen - quite easy now I know where they are and how to get to them. The knack of the middle one is taking the clock out !

That's not in the manual. I clipped the soft top on to get it in place and loosened the soft top fittings at the back to ease it a bit more. I straitened the seal at the front and bolted it back on. Again easy when you know where they are. I'll ease the LHS soft top fitting a bit more by making the wedge holes a bit bigger. Next is the insides of the back flaps.

Finally I had time to get the Imp out and around the block (via saving the planet) although I was very cold by the time we got back.

So that was that - until we got the Harkstead call ...

Oh well - at least the day was productive.
