Now What !

So I went into the garage first thing to get the Talbot warmed up for Taxi duty - only to be met with a strong smell of petrol. Umm. Looking under he Alpine was this.

Yes a very slight petrol leak from somewhere - I'll investigate tomorrow. Will it not behave !

So I then tried to find the rattle on the Talbot.

I thought I'd traced it to the winder which was very loose again. Starting the car was still a bit of a strain and the fuel pump did not want to prime much - but works fine when the car is running - odd. I also checked the oil and it was almost at the top still.

The drive later to pick up my passengers from the station (James and Miri) seemed to confirm it was fixed. Good. At the station someone was a bit taken about by the Uber. "Now that's how to be picked up in style" she said to her friend.

It did look good - but on the way back the bloody rattle returned - odd.

Anyway finally I moved the Alpine back out of the garage and will investigate the leak next week.
