On the Skids ?

So a 5:45 start across the Gloucester countryside.

Nice empty driving roads at that time of the day - down into Hampshire on good sweeping driving roads, but of course the Sat Nav eventually took me through some narrow lanes and not the best route.

Made it by 7:40 so nice and early.

Thruxton is always a bit scruffy though, especially when deserted - and today was no exception.

Anyway I did my 'skids' in a Mini (automatic) and this scruffy Porsche Cayman that got stuck in second gear. Not that it really mattered as we only did 10 miles an hour tops.

Lesson are: 1. Steer into the skid very quickly and take the power off ever quicker. 2. The traction control systems won't save you on slippery roads.

On the way back I stopped in Marlborough for a rest (which looked a nice small town) but I was summoned back. The run back was fine although I was a bit jaded (and ratty) by the time I got to LV.

Final MK7 drive to the restaurant (very, very slow service so they gave us the meal for free) and gloomy walk back in the dark.
