No, not a My Three Words address but the Talbot Technical Day.
However the 'day' started at 1:00 am with a call to take Oli into the Hospital. So Jana and the MK7 in play as I slumbered and wondered what to do. In the end I went - in the SAAB as planned.
So I saw a few nice Talbots there and got to know some people a bit more.
There were four good technical talks - which convinced me that I need a lot more of them if I'm going to tackle some of the complex tasks - or even routine maintenance ones ! Here is the pre-select gearbox.
At the end of the final talk of the day I found out I'd been starting the car incorrectly - well if I have this.
It is a starter carburetor on the side of the Zenith, attached to the start control on the steering wheel ...
We'll have to see if we have one.
Finally the run back as punctuated by a slight hesitation - cured by a few runs at high revs - and the odd FLASH of the engine warning light. Ummm.
Finally a late night SAAB run to get a takeaway as the clear but cold night began to settle on us - seemed appropriate
Should I have taken the Talbot today ? Probably given the way the day played out but the again probably not.
And the location in what three words ? It's in a field near Schmeheim - a small village in Germany not far from Erfurt as it happens.
