Swede to Swede

The morning job was to take the sails off the boat. About two hours.

The SAAB swallowed them easily.

Cold and grey day - so that was it.

ION: I watched an interesting video by Harry Metcalfe (he of EVO etc.) about the problem with modern superstars (and by extension modern cars in general). His position was that they are encumbered with so much technology - imposed by legislation - that they are no longer drivers cars. In fact drivers have not requested these features and spend time just turning them off - hence the cars are not popular.

The impact is that the car's price has had to skyrocket - £200-300k is not unusual - and subsequently depreciation kicks in very very quickly. Loosing £100k in six months is not uncommon.

Electric SUVs etc. a level down are also suffering badly.

The result, he concludes, is that low tech modern sports cars will be the ones to keep. I would add to that drivable classics of all eras.
