So back to the Alpine. I decided I better check the fluids but just as I was walking around the car I noticed the offside rear wheel was flat again. It is the second time that's gone down in six months or so - it did it when we went to NEC. That's something I'll have to check - so first job was actually to pump it back up. I last did it on Friday, so with a watching brief we should be ok.
So the oil was fine (probably a bit high) but the water was a bit low - wet but nothing in the top tank. Clutch and brake fluid were fine - until I dropped the cloth in the brake fluid reservoir and soaked some up. Next was adding an expansion bottle on the water.
So another "prototype" in place - but at least it is red.
I also topped up the washer fluid and found the bottle cage very loose, but could not find an easy way of securing it - so just jammed a washer under it for now.
Finally I went through my old stash of car keys and found a FS one just a few numbers off the one for the boot that works. So that's a full spare set now. Mind you I think a lot of keys would turn the ignition.
PM I met Mac to discuss the trip to Germany - so I took the E-type. Arriving at the gates it looked very posh, but it is only the estate.
