X Marks the Spot and Two Mistakes

Started the day looking at the Alpine so I used the platform to jack it up again and get it in the air.

Although the bar I'd been using in the jacking point seems to be bending more. As to 'rattles' I strapped a few things to stop them moving but the main noise seemed to be from the handbrake mechanism - so I put some tape around that. 

A short test drive later and it appeared to be less noisy but not completely rattle free. Meanwhile I'd packed the SAAB for the dump.

I'd also started the Talbot - which seemed to take even longer - even less fuel getting through I suspected.

Mistake 1. It turned out that I'd booked the wrong dump and had to dash to Foxhall through the contra-flow across the bridge - but it was fine. Later I also gave the SAAB a clean to say thanks.

Mistake 2. On the way back Grimaldi phoned and yes the car is ready - he'd driven it 50 miles to check - so I arranged to pick it up tomorrow. BUT it turns out I'm supposed to be in Norfolk tomorrow - so it will have to be Wednesday afternoon. Dho !
