Inching forward again

Started the day spotting me in the STD bulletin. 

So that's two months on the trot.

Then another Alpine to investigate - this time it was the mysterious panel light on the ammeter.

Turns out that ... some fool had connected the earth from the wiper motor to it rather than earth it properly. Odd - I don't remember doing that.

Anyway I made up a proper earth connection and re-did the wiper one and we should have been in the clear. But no - No power at all ... Yes the ammeter wire had dropped off again. That fixed we were done. Only about an hour.

Then I got cocky and decided to fit the new temperature gauge. It went in OK - and yes it reads higher than the old one. However that is ALL THE TIME !

So something is wrong. Too much voltage getting to it I suspect but it's another lesson to learn.

However I did pop up in it to Harkstead in the sunshine.

Then PM off to the bottle bank in the Aston as a treat.

Seems that's all the runs it gets at the moment.
