Home again and a warm welcome

Lift in Mk7 to pick up the Alpine this afternoon.

Slightly cleaner than the last time I saw it but not much. Run back was fine - better then before in fact - although obviously I was a bit worried. 20 miles with no problems though. There was even a little warmth coming through once the car had heated up.

So we got home and I decided it deserved a wash and brush up before taking it out again tonight - how I'm going to get 500 miles on it I don't know.

However, after that I decided to look for the heater blower that I assumes was missing - oh it was there all along - but not working. So I tested it and it sprang to life - a bit weak but working - so I wired it in.

It was only after re-wiring it that I looked at the manual for the instructions on how to turn it on ...

Anyway then we were off to the RGEA meeting in it for the first time in many months - in the dark too.

The car went fine on the way in fact it was too hot but ... on the way back when I was congratulating my luck the fan made a grinding noise when I switched it on and then stopped.

List of jobs added to that then as oddly the horn was not working and the air scoop (softener bottle top) was missing. So more to do but a good start.
