Decided that the heat insulation for the Alpine fuel pipe must be the wrong size so I went to measure it. It was the correct size. Umm. So I found a way to feed it over the pipe and hey presto it is done.
Then the Imp arrived early afternoon. Looking good but it still 'frightens' me. A bit like the E-Type and then the Ferrari did when I first got them. Funny thing was that the Astons felt right from the first drive.
Anyway I jumped into it and did a quick test drive (in a 1930's car that I've hardly ever driven) and everything looks like it is sorted. We'll see. Seemed odd now it's back.
Then the SAAB out and about for domestic visit.
Finally the Alpine to the shops in the evening heat to test it. Seemed 'better for longer' would be my observations - so more hear shielding needed. Mind you it seemed harder to drive on the way back after the heat had soaked in. It was still bloody hot though.
SAAB late out to for the local shops again - too hot to walk. It stuck me that it's been like Washington DC 25 years ago. Hot and humid in the late evening.
