Home on Three ?

Cleaned the Caterham ahead of the meeting tonight - more dusted it and then detailed. Looked good.

Played with the Alpine boot lock again and found that it seemed to be the spring was too weak to keep it locked. It was under some pressure due to the boot seal, so ordered some thinner stuff.

SAAB for jobs PM.

Then 90 mile round trip for the meeting. Arrived late but not many cars had arrived so I ended up at the back.

Meeting ok but format is not that easy to talk to people.

On the way home in the dark it was fine and warm-ish. Tried to photograph it, not that successful.

Kept the speed down as it was hard to see with the lights but I was enjoying the drive. Then the car started to 'stutter' when I slowed down for a 30 mph zone. Felt like it was on three cylinders - with 20 miles to go.

It was OK (if a bit rough) above 3000 revs (50 mph) so I decided to make it back instead of stopping. On the last leg of the A14 the car started to backfire, but then luckily it cleared. I limped home.

So another job for tomorrow. Mileage about 45040 when it happened, almost 3000 miles since the plugs were changed - so let's hope it's just that.
