Deflated - but rescued

Quick SAAB jaunt to drop off the MK7 for work. Then back via Oil's to drop off stuff - when there I also noticed a large bit of metal falling off the SAAB back exhaust.

Anyway - I decided to get the E-Type warm - so put the fan heater on it for quite a while as it had not even been started in almost 4 months, While that was warming I attended to a few jobs - such as removing what appeared to be an outer cover for the exhaust.

You can see the rough edge where I ripped it off. I suspect we'll be visiting Abbotts soon.

So back at the E-type I hit a small snag - the immobilizer would not turn off. Ah SHIT I thought and had a little panic before thinking that I must have disturbed a power wire working on the steering... or the earth perhaps.

So it turns out that one of the wires that were attached to the steering arm bot was the earth for the immobilizer - as soon as I attached a wire it worked first time. Phew. Then the car did not want to start - I have had this before as the fuel seems to be leaking back when not being used - odd.

Then Alpine out in the sun shopping.

I had a strange feeling of déjà vu taking this pic.

Finally a SAAB run to pick the Golf up again - seems one of the two exhaust sensors have died which is expensive and you need to replace both - so wait for the other one to die is the advice.

PS and here is the pic from March 2016.
