Storms Pass - but a rumble remains

Started the day early running the Alpine to up fill with Esso Super High Plus Unleaded Extra - or something that cost just over £30 for 25 liters - and then set off for Ufford Park to meet up and get ready for the run.

Some cars had stayed over including two Tigers and an SII Alpine who had driven all the way from Northern Germany.

The car sounded as rough as the weather looked as we drove in but kept going all the weekend especially well at medium speeds.

The route took us to Thorpeness and Westleton for lunch - where everyone was surprised by the appearance of a ex-hot rod Ford Flat-head racer brought by one of the members.

From there it was on wards to Bentwaters Airbase - now a business park containing everything from ex-cold-war military fighter aircraft being restored to bulk Onion storage, power generation and Film studios. Not to mention the old Nuclear warhead storage bunkers now used to hold cars etc. We stopped at the control tower to climb up and see the views.

Then we were given a VIP guided tour - by the owner of the complex driving us in a coach - before he took us onto the private museum he had created. The first hanger was full of more tractors than I had ever seen in on place - until we were taken to the actual museum.

Mostly Tractors with a few cars it had to be said - but it was interesting never the less.

On the journey there the car had started to make a clunking/crashing/rumbling noise from the rear - which got worse and worse as we drove on the bumpy back lanes. We dodged the thunderstorms most of the day and got back to the hotel but I could not see anything loose - but I went to bed a bit worried again about the car.
