Started out dull but risked the Alpine.

Then it turned to rain so drove home in drizzle. Bad call but warm.

River Run

Traffic Jam on the way in but clear run on the way home. Both in sunshine Alpine pottering weather.

Last days of Summer

Captured a warm sunny morning and sped off in the alpine to work.

Then home at lunchtime for the swap before the rain came down.

1902 - 1960 and 1979

1960 Alpine to the country house - spotted this there a De Dion Bouton 1902 - then home and a buzz in the 308 (1979).

Cleaning Alpines

Well just one - and it only takes 15 mins and not much water.

Paintwork looking scruffy.

Went for the drive to dry off - a chill in the wind at 5:00 pm - September all right.

Alpine to the station

Just commuting again - cold at 07:45 running to the station in the Alpine. Warm at 18:00 running back.

Parked next to a brace of Fiat 500 clones - looked ok I guess.

Nipped out for a blast in the 308 late Bank holiday Monday - Rain mostly on the other days.

Monday Morning Motoring

Is mainly SAAB - due to storms.

Drizzel

Top coat polishing - on the e-type to an inch of it's life -

and painting chips in red and a well needed vacuum in the 308. But that's all.

A couple more pics up in the garage too.

But no ! a dash to fill the e-type with petrol and back between the darkness.

Well moving cards around and washed and polished the E-type and washed the 308 then went for a run in it as the clouds darkened.

Alpine MOT next week - so topped up the petrol.

Anyway - the cars passed on the drive as I swapped them round...

Well the Alpine on the Lawn.

A little shower driving home but nothing tooooo bad.

Got Mr E out of the garage. Still running rich - s0 why would it change sitting in the garage I don't know - but always hopefull !

Italian Dash

250 miles in the 308. Car show and M25. Quite noisy actually.


Odd 1968 Toyota Corona I think - whatever it was the start of the end of British car manufacturing.

Saw this small but interesting trailer. Seen them before - parts of cars used as trailers, but not as caravans...

Soundtrack to the Summer

Getting Car ready for Cranleigh car show tomorrow. Well a blast and a fill up. May even clean the windows. 250 miles there and back I'd guess.

Not much other than showers and the radio.

But Rain and parking at the station convinced me to keep the e-type in the garage.

Trees and Sun

Alpine to Station - cheer up the commute. Always feels odd driving it in a suit.

Popping out

In a modern "popping out" works well. Harder when you have to crank it over to get going and it's hot and it's not got cup holders.

Alpine Action

Quick commute in the Alpine as the sun shone again. Oh Summer warmth and an open top car.

Suffolk Dash

Nipped to Clare by e-type in the sun. British countryside and a classic British sports car.

It does get better - just !

Summer is ending I saw as the setting sun at seven glinted off the bonnet on the e-type tonight on the run home.

More rain forecast - probably won't but scudding grey clouds convinced to me SAAB it again today.

Risking the Rain

Rain as we drove up. Rain passed, the sun came out and lots of heat ! Yippee English Summer returned for a while. SAOC meet for lunch.

Not sure who brought this though ?




90 miles in the Alpine. Hard work but rewarding.

Small Jobs

Like re-setting the steering wheel and tiding up the wires under the dash. Plus a wash.

Then 200 miles in the 308 to round off the evening. Nice blue lights from the velga guages. Notices a charging issue when drawing current though. Needs investigating...

No Rain

No Interest - Black SAAB for expediency.

Good Call

Left the e-type in the garage and took the SAAB. Needs a service so the modern box tells me.

But it hammered down with rain so it was for the best.
