Packed up and set off as the sun continued to shine.
Some traffic but an easy run home really.
Then in the evening I decided to get the 308 out - so I did.
So the question is - would I swap it for a 1930's Derby Bentley ? Not today.

Dodge Challenger in the camp site car park was a highlight on a very sunny bank holiday weekend.
Actually I suspect we'll need a lot more of them for all the electric cars we're going to use.
West Burton A - if I'm not mistaken.
Packing up for the camping weekend and I decided we did not need the top box - until I tried to squeeze everything in. So we had to shuffle the cars around to get it down and on. I need another shed.
But it all fitted eventually.
Then a quick 150+ miles in the SAAB up to Tuxford to unpack and set the tent up.
Mk7 back again late afternoon after we sailed back. The sun had come out though so after a bit of SAAB packing it was time to get a few out.
Ferrari first - did not start first time - but ran well - still looking clean after the filming clean too.
Then as the sky's were solid blue I dared the Imp. The sun shone although it got a bit cold at the end of the run. Still makes a noise - but we hit 50 a couple of times and got a couple of waves.
I was given these today - carted back in the SAAB ...
... before we went to Hadleigh and I discovered a great backroad.
Showers most of the day - so I took the opportunity to get the Caterham out when the sun came out at last.
Then as it had not started raining yet the Alpine too.
Well the Golf Mk7 with two added chairs for the run to James for his birthday in London.
Then short SAAB jaunt in the rain.
Fixing the mirror which was nearly off.
Stuck and held tight with a plastic bag and a rag wrapped in tape - I hope.
Then a Mk7 ride.
Bad day weather-wise so just a couple of utility runs in the SAAB - in the rain and hail.
175 miles - give or take a couple of detours - under our belt today with a visit to the North Norfolk coast.
First stop was to see Marc at Grey Seal Coffee - lots of appreciation in the dusty car park although not many people were around.
Then to Cley and meet up with some E-type owners. I say that but there were few E-Types. You can tell we're all serial offenders as most people have more than one classic car.
So we were greeted by a nice Austin Healy 3000 and TR4 and black brooding clouds.
The marvelous deep shine was still there on the car though as someone remarked when they saw it.
After working on the drive I popped off in the SAAB to but some small concrete posts after lunch.
Spend an hour or two adding a layer of wax to the E-Type - it did look good afterwards too.
Time to clean the E-Type between the showers before we take it to Norfolk on Tuesday (in more rain probably).
Then got a look at the final the Aston video.
I did move the SAAB I'm sure... but spent the majority of the day playing with car video.
Ah yes - I went to a muddy Holbrook Creek to look for insects - there were not really any yet.
The season is about 4 weeks behind last year.
ION: Say hello to B.1.617.2 - the new C-19 Indian variant spreading rapidly in the UK now.
SAAB out very early to set up the tree men for Nana in Harkstead.
Then despite the clouds I decided it really did need a clean - and an aqua wax. It came up well.
Then popped out to collect some old tools - including these Whitworth Taps - dyes to follow if found !
The tins are good too.
SAAB mid morning to utility run Harkstead and back x 2.
Then pm Aston out in the sunshine for a Drone video with 3 other Astons.
It did look good in the dying sunshine.
Alpine to the boat first thing to dry-run the wood work job we need to do.
Allotment run in the SAAB early afternoon again.
Then later Mk2 up for a quick clean and half hearted polish. I used the Aquawax and all it seemed to do was strip off the old polish - odd ?
Took a very dusty MK2 Golf to the Covid-19 vaccination centre.
So here I am all jabbed up with the #2 dose as was Jana.
Then took the Golf to a BBQ - in the sunshine - until the rain re-arrived at 8:00. So the car got some type of wash anyway.
Met a little yellow peril there too.
Lots of nothing today as the wind and rain howled around - will be better tomorrow.
So played with filters.
G2R first thing for a sail before the weather turns bad again. Did spot this Bentley at the marina - not looking so bad in this colour.
Then late afternoon took the Imp around the block - through the 2 sets of roadworks and the roundabout. It did begin to smell a bit of oil so I guessed what what happened.
SAAB into town first thing - parked in the street looking as battered as most of the other cars.
Had a quick run in the Alpine - around the usual block, now with 2 sets of roadworks again - going well in the cold bright weather.
Got back just as the rain started again - phew.
Then looked at the Imp lights for the LED kit - several times. Seems like it should be do'able.
Stormy day on and off - it's hailing as I type this - so spent a bit of time in the garage.
Firstly put the cork gaskets on the rocker box covers - well three of them - the fourth was too tight to accept another layer.
Not sure its right though. I hope to meet a few members one day to ask these type of questions.
Then checked the E-type oil - seemed better...
ION: India C-19 infections have topped 20m - that after the government told everyone it had 'beaten Covid' a few months ago and the system is breaking down - more countries will also follow they think.
Got into the E-type for a run before the storms come through again and it sounded different. It had a high pitched whine ? That will be the fan belt I thought.
... and it was. Freying again with the threads making a whistling sound, plus depositing muck on the car.
Also the oil pressure seemed high on starting - but the oil level was a bit low.
Tools loaded for the first trip to the allotment this year.
It's still Winter really.
However the drone film came back and it's good. A bit of our own Top Gear moment.
