Dark day calls for a Dark car

Aston out and long...ish run to blow the cobwebs away.

Dark and grey day and the car looked even darker sitting there.

Aero Jobs and Audis

More warm car pottering - dreary again so no classic - salt down on most days as well so need a few days rain to wash it all away.

Pushing past the cold

Got the Caterham out again.

 

 

Blow heater on it for an hour then off we went. 

Skipping days

Just trips to shop in SAAB. Cold and damp.

Nothing doing

WFH instead and not going out.

Bloody Hell

Says it all really. Slapped on the Aero windscreen.

Parking fine at the station - nowhere to park at all at Manningtree so I took a risk. Shame but I needed to get the train fr work.

Another day inside

Mostly inside with a Aero jaunt late in the day. Dreary weather though.

Not as Cold as you'd think

About Zero degrees. Frost on the grass and frozen bird bath. Ideal weather for the Caterham !

Fab heater on for an hour. Wrapped up warm and off we went.

Also Aero as normal for jobs.

Both need a clean very badly.

Also used Canon AE-1 analogue camera for a few shots. Will update the post later when they get processed !

SAAB pottering

Ran through gritting lorry spreading salt again today in the SAAB.

Others out of the way.

Sneaked one out

Aston for blast in the winter sun. Shitty roads but going well. Needs a a clean of course - so do they all.

Winter blues and I'm working - ride in MK7 though as well.

Er forgetting to go out then SAAB

Most of the day working but did pop out to buy antique Camera. Will see if I can take a picture of the cars.

ANO Shopping trip

Aero to shops - took it to get ot out of the way of the Aston - but it was dropping and the salt was spread by 3:00 pm so left it alone.

Pumping it up

Only car action was putting sir in the tires.

Did open the garage though and saw the Aston and Jag.

SAAB SAAB SAAB

Rain and sleet today.


Winter just seems to be Aero runs to shops and utility trips.

SAAB and Golf

Buzzing about collecting wood in the SAAB in the frost - then filled it with boxes for the dump.

Second trip in the Golf Mk2 also filling it up with rubbish. Must get it cleaned soon too.

First Frosty Start

SAAB had a nice layer of snow and ice first thing.

Cleared windscreen fine with warm water and a bit of time.

Looks like front near side tyre is a bit low though.

Back to watching

Just looking out of the window put me off. Cold, Rain then Snow.

Bursting out of the bubble

Alpine out for a run to Trinity Park to discuss the 2017 National. Only one to bring my car.

Slight rain/sleet in the air during the day, but caught the moon on the way back.

Home and back in the bubble.

The Aero off across the fields for photos.

That was refreshing

Caterham out in the clear bright cold. Got very dirty and no time to clean it up.

Did 160+ miles on the tank - still about the same I think.

Spent 30 mins reading car mags and an Aston DB7/DB9/V8 Vantage review so decided to take mine out.

A quick 30 mile jaunt. Steady and fast. Nice drive and feels like a sports car. Window cleaner appreciate it to as I arrived with exhaust roaring.

Upstairs Commute

Working on 'real work' from home. No need to go out and missed the sun as the rain pelted down.

An icy blast on the way soon as well we're warned. Must get something out before the salt is re-introduced.

Round the block the long way

6 Aero miles and almost two miles of that was due to the roadworks outside the house.

Ride then lift home

Suzuki started fine - three times - so hopefully the battery will hold its charge for a while.

Found the road blocked for work.

Then pm Mk7 passenger run to boat.

Walk then ride home

Just a walk to collect the Suzuki and start it up. Ran fine - so will leave it at home over night and see how it gets on.

Took it on a long run - gutless thing - but quite modern.

Sunshine Dash

Dashed out at lunchtime in the Caterham which started well from cold - at 5 deg.

Round the block and up to the reservoir to check parking fees - the life of the retired man.

Obligatory photo on the drive afterwards.

Then early evening Aero jaunt to put the charger on the Suzuki (Mum's car). Flat battery - either lack of use of just died. Check tomorrow.

The fleet manager spread his clients.

Jobbing again

Short Aero trip for jobs in the sleet.

No Fluids

Took the Golf Mk2 out for a run.

It's filthy again inside and out.

Found the water light flashing when I got in - e.g. very low on water - must be a leak somewhere. Also the steering is still a bit lob-sided.

On and no petrol to speak of either.

But went well.

Loads More

Aero back to moving - ladders this time.

Moved Aston out and then into the garage. Not counting as a use though.

Gritting lorry went past and the salt is down again now.

Brave new 2017

Aero back from MK in the streaming rain.
