Hail to the Weather

Left the cars for the PM and the sun - instead it was rain and hail - so Aero to B&Q instead.

Checked the miles and NIL for the Aston in March. Where did the time go ?

In fact the Alpine hit to top score.

Hopefully Fixed

The Alpine handbrake. Took it apart and added some bits to keep the ratchet in place.

Suspiciously easy - if it took time to do.Tested it after tightening up the cable and seems OK.

 Also got a squeak on the front nearside wheel again.

Caterham out in the sun which turned to spotting rain - parked next to a monster in B&Q.

Folowed by Aero utility run and final test of the Alpine - still seems OK.

Old English White

Run to the boat for jobs in Aero when the weather cleared - did see this nice white MGB GT parked up though.

VAG

Lots of VW Audi group cars on the drive today. 

Polo - Golf - A3 - A3 saloon - A5. 

AERO used for popping around in the stormy winds though. 

Just foot

Quick walk - no motors involved. 

Big Boys Toys

Aero for running around in the drizzle - got Traction though.

Some Spring Sun

Alpine out for a quick job. Sunshine warming up a bit - no gloves needed.

Another odd squeak when it can out if the garage. Need to make time for a service. 

Then Aero pressed into service for a booze run.

Mr E back

Back from MOT and service.

Went well - after a rub on one side ...

Then Aero jobs again.

Full Up Aero

Packed with boxes for the dump.

That would have been 20 trips in the Caterham. 

Also finished off the model with numberplates etc.

Lugging stuff around.

A few early jobs

Collected MK2 with passed MOT.

Needed new tire though - looked good in the mirror as we drove off there.

E-Type off for service and MOT too - to the land of rescued SAABs.

Then back to Aero for more jobs - B&Q etc.

... and back again

Through two of the tunnels under the Mersey today.

Aero moving Mum lots of load lugging.

Dashing around

Aero first thing to do more jobs up country.

Then Caterham to boat to paint a bit. Cold but sunny.

Alpine Meeting

Run to Norfolk for Alpine meeting - cold 100+ miles. Good turnout though. 

Spring No 2

Ferrari out of the bubble - started easily after a bit of blow heater and is going well.

Run round the block in the spring cold as a shakedown.

Aero first thing with trailer to collect stuff - trashed the electrical connection as it fell off and dragged on the road for several miles.

Add it to the list.

A to R

Aero to Rassy - lots of work polishing it. Now I think I can do a car better after all day practicing with the machine. 

Too knackered to take out another car - and it was the best day this year do far. 

Sprung into the Sun

E-Type out of the bubble for 20 mins and started for the first time in 4+ months. Clutch a bit sticky at first. Needed fuel pumping through and smoked a bit - but went well and sounded 100%. Need to MOT, service and un-sorn.

 

 

Caterham too - moved to get to the trailer and then round the block in the sun. Went really well - I think he seat has improved it.

 

Then Aero load lugging scaffold etc. to the boat for cleaning duties.

 

 

 

 

Rain won't stop

Rained most of he say - but washed the MK2 as planned and refitted all the carpets etc. 

Came up nice. 

Then made seats for the model Seven. 

Alpine Chill

Alpine going well - seems to like the cold weather. 20 miles across the bridge and I was shivering.

Smell of petrol has gone away though - so it must be leaking at the top of the tank.

Also started work on the Caterham model - converting it from a nice model to bits - just like real life.

Golf Drying

Spent most of the day drying out the MK2. Lots of very wet newspaper under the carpets - not sure if that was us or the previous owner.

Replaced sodden underlay with new and think it sounds less 'boomy' too,

Water 'felt' soapy so will check if it's from the washer fluid bottle that has a leak.

Also coolant slowly leals out - also a bit if mayonnaise in the oil - so head gasket a bit leaky too.

More Aero running about

And starting to dry out the Golf carpets - but it's too cold outside. 

VW Back

Golf MK2 cam back late Friday - looking a bit sad for itself - dirty inside and out - but driving well.

Needs some tlc and drying out - seems to leek badly - inside and s drip from the water system somewhere too.

Looks good parted to a newer one though - even if it was raining again.

Friday release

Alpine out of the bubble - and it does not squeak on the left turn ?

Obviously the winter did it wonders...

Off the B&Q for a few boxes.

Aero lugged a real load though...

Run up country with tools etc.

Sun out so classics soon - after the frost.

Nowhere near 600 miles now - 550 a possibility.

Sitting comfortably ?

Made the shaped stuffing for the Caterham. Still a bit uncomfortable but a lot better.

Run round the block was fine. Needs to be higher or lower...

Tuesday Torrents

Out in the AERO - 600 slipping away due to short journeys.

Rain hammering down on the A12 and the bridge is 60 both ways at last.

Not much fun - so not un-sorning the Ferrari yet.
