End of Summer

End of summer was in June. Rain most weeks since then  - not many miles in classics but several in all else.

V12 looking hot on the heals of many months of drizzle...

weather stayed good for the record though at Silverstone.

So the paper has a two page spread on green cars not being as green as we're lead to believe.

Bright Alpine Sun

Morning drive into work in the sun at 7:30 with just a T-shirt. Ah what a bit if sun can do.

I always forget how messy the black SAAB is inside.

Decided Alpine needed another run to the station. It was early and only slight chance of rain. Honest.

After yesterday Alpine escapade it's rain again, mainly on the ... You know the rest.

Sun at last

120 miles plus in the Alpine - some showers but nothing much.

No it's not - more Saturday rain.

Managed to wash the SAAB on Saturday though before the showers started again.

Off to work early in the sun.

Two days this week - you'd think it was Summer.

SAAB to station and a grubby car it is - pollen, dust, tree sap, leaves and the occasional targeting bird have really paid off for my Rat look.

Bad day on the roads

Passed three accidents today. Not nice ones either. Better late as we were than in the smash.

This Daimler cheered me up though.

Summer time at last

Classic fuelled weekend. Starting with the Alpine, then Mr E then finished off with the Ferrari in the late sun.

Run into work in the Alpine. Sunny at last indeed.

Great classic car day

But I'm stuck on a delayed train in 80 deg heat.

Thursday 300

330 miles. Early and warm.

Alpine in the Sun

I lie and so did the weatherman. It was cold all day and almost got blown off the Orwell bridge at lunchtime.

Thumbs-up from a lad cheered me up though.

Might have said good by to Aston V12 dreams for a while - time to be sensible.

Alpine gets a look in

Sunbeam got a run out and the rain held off - wind blasted but nice to see her out again at last.

Monotinous

OK - so Another weekend another Aston Martin V12 test drive. Not this one as it was sold.

Learnt that sports seats are not very comfortable and a blue interior is not to my taste.

They had to ask me twice to go for a drive. But the car went very well.

And my clutch is hard work. But my drive back was good too.

Aston Dreaming

That's three Aston Martin Vantages in four days, the V8S, my V8 and the V12. It's a habit I'd like to keep up.

Heartland

Today I found myself in Oxfordshire - 15 miles from Gaydon. I wonder what happens there ?

Passed through Clarkson country. Obviously doffed my cap.

Sunday back again and then e-type in the sunshine - nice car too. 

Blue Mood

Test drove this V8 Aston Vantage S today. In blue with flappy paddles £100k+ of car.

Paddles worked very well, as well as the Ferrari 430 I drove a while ago. Not 100% sold on it but very quick all the same.

And collected mine - which felt great to drive - and the Focus as well. All in all bit of a hit on the credit cards this month.

And SAAB passed 180k

Friday Focus

Sun out - but Focus as weapon of choice.

Did ride in Golf though to the station.

Dull day - but promise of classic action in the next few days.

Shocking news

Aston needs a new shock absorber - coverered by the service plan. Tyre, Disks and Breaks were not.

Focus booked into service too.

So no Felixstowe classics on my agenda due to heavy rain - so a nice Aston interior instead.
