SAAB action as commuting - still see Green 1970's 911 in the station car park and think...

Not risking it

More rain forecast - probably won't but scudding grey clouds convinced to me SAAB it again today.

Risking the Rain

Rain as we drove up. Rain passed, the sun came out and lots of heat ! Yippee English Summer returned for a while. SAOC meet for lunch.

Not sure who brought this though ?

90 miles in the Alpine. Hard work but rewarding.

Small Jobs

Like re-setting the steering wheel and tiding up the wires under the dash. Plus a wash.

Then 200 miles in the 308 to round off the evening. Nice blue lights from the velga guages. Notices a charging issue when drawing current though. Needs investigating...

No Interest - Black SAAB for expediency.

Good Call

Left the e-type in the garage and took the SAAB. Needs a service so the modern box tells me.

But it hammered down with rain so it was for the best.

Wax Shine

Rained at 16:00 - like the BBC said. Mr E got wet.

Just Shopping

Italian Tin to shops, try to fix tax disk holder that "melts".

Feed for Mr E.

Stop the Pigon

Another M25 200 miles. Livened up by Mr Pigon logding himeslef in the radiator grill. Woosh it came over the van in front - bang - into the air in take.

Umm warm pigon in the radiator.

Funny thing was it's heart was ripped out somewhere between the van and the e-type ?

Back again

M25 back was very clear too on Friday night run back which was a relief.
Car behaved well - a bit of pinking under load but stable temperature – over a total of 650 miles.

90 degrees in the UK

Well set to be in the 90's in the UK and I'm off the Portsmouth in the E-Type in that. M25 again.
How many times do I say "Hottest day of the year".

Before that running James to prom in Italian Tin.

France and Le Mans tomorrow. Let's see how we get on. Everything running well after the last trip.

___________________________________________________

Hopped into the 308 for the Prom run - made a little ripple. Then back for the main event in the e-type.

Home-Portsmouth-Cean-Le Mans-La Deniliais-Home. All parts of the journey went like clockwork – thanks to GPS on the phone. A little late in to Portsmouth 10:30 pm - then up at 5:00 am for the port but a little early for the meeting and at the track having parked the car on the campsite for the 4:00 pm start. Le Mans very busy but peppered with great classics.
One electric car amongst the sports cars on display – the Tesler.

Run to Brittany in the 30 degrees heat - better with a navigator (again) and we failed to get lost.

Modern Trip

SAAB into work - blocked in and did not fancy a classic.

Sunday, 4 July 2010

Took Mr E shopping again

Sunshine and poping out - use it as a shopping car - a bit much.

Odd rattle from rear suspension ?

Thumbs up from biker and positive glances all round.

Nice modern Maserati in the car park.

Blue Beatuy

250 CE Mercedez looking great in the sunshine of the late afternoon. Class Act. Made the Italian Tin look Dead Bling. I'd have both though.

At night a drive in the dark in the Alpine. Classics in the car park too. All one persons.

Blistering Sun

Real summer heat at last.

Three Lions Bad - Three Wipers Good

How many cars have three wipers ?

Mr. E. SI and II - I think only. Although several moderns have just one.

Lot's more talk of subsidising electric cars again. How will we pulg them in and charge "overnight" - not practical.
